North Terrace Gardens and Buildings

This is Adelaide's Cultural Boulevard

All Images are by Adelaide Photographer Maxwell Millowick
from Maxwells Web Media

North Terrace is Adelaide's cultural boulevard and is exactly one mile (1.6km) long. It contains many excellent examples of early Australian and South Australian architecture, as well as The Lion Performing Arts Center and Adelaide's oldest church, which was built in 1838 soon after the arrival of the European settlers. This is the Anglican Holy Trinity Church and is still in use..

Note:
Each image with a click will open up to to the main page for each location on North Terrace.

Maxwell's Comments:
I do hope you will enjoy these images of some the early heritage buildings of Adelaide, and also a journey into The Adelaide Botanic Gardens via the images.
Some of these buildings date back more than 150 years!

I am updating some of this page during January 2006

The Pathway along North Terrace Adelaide is lit by Gas Lamps, donated to the Adelaide Council by The Gas Company in 1988, to mark the Bicentenary of Australia.
This wall around Government House has been fully restored to its former glory.
